Declutter With Me: Foundations

Hello everyone, I hope you all are doing well. Here is another decluttering post for you all, today I am decluttering my foundations.

I do have quite a bit of foundations, a lot are old, non cruelty free, and some aren’t even my shade, so it is clearly time for a little clean out.

Here I just organized the foundations I’ll be keeping, from the ones I’ll be getting rid of, the ones on top are the ones I’m leaving, and the ones on the bottom, I’m leaving.

Its funny, I showed all the ones I’m getting rid of to my mom, and she ended up taking them all and added them to her collection. She actually did that with a good portion of the makeup I decided to get rid of.

That is it for this installment of my Declutter With Me Series. I don’t want to make any promises, but I’m trying to post everyday. I’m set for a while, and these decluttering posts really help me out with that. So I am aiming to post a decluttering post every other day, or at least every other post. I’m not sure, we’ll see, I just hope you look forward to all of these like I am. Thank you so much for reading!

Too Faced Sketch Marker vs. Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a great day! I took the time to test out the Sketch Marker from Too Faced and I will be putting it up against the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. As you all know, the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner is my all time favorite eyeliner, however it isn’t always so easily accessible to me, the nearest Sephora to me is about 25 minutes away and I don’t always have the time to make the drive to go get it. But I have heard great things about other comparable eyeliners, and I thought I would try them out for myself.

I will start off by saying it is very similar to the Kat Von D Tattoo liner but not exactly the same. They look the same, they even apply almost the same as well. They both have a brush applicator and apply easily. I noticed with the Too Faced one, you have to really work with it when applying metallic shadows. Its almost as if those metallic eyeshadows are so metallic that it will show through the eyeliner. I have noticed this a couple of times with the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner, but maybe once or twice throughout the 2 years I have used it. They both are just fine when applied with matte shadows.

It is very long lasting, which I like, and from what I have noticed, it seems to live up to its waterproof formula. However, there were multiple instances where the eyeliner would run up my eyelid to my brow, very subtle, noticeable but not unless you were up close. But I can’t really figure out when it runs, because it wouldn’t run with water or sweat, just sometimes it would randomly run, and it would be minutes after application.

As for my final thoughts, it is an okay eyeliner, it does the job, but if I had to choose between the two, I would hands down choose the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. The Too Faced one is a nice alternative if you don’t have easy access to a store like Sephora that carries Kat Von D products. Thank you so much for reading!

Declutter With Me: Concealers

Hello everybody, I hope you are all having a wonderful day. Today I wanted to continue on with my Declutter With Me series! I know I previously shared with you decluttering my eyeshelf, which included primers, eyeliners, and mascaras. I do have 3 shelves in my room that’s for makeup, eyes, face, and then bronzers, blushes and highlighters. I was going to do the whole shelf, but I think I’m just going to focus on one type of product, and just include more of these posts. Today’s post will be on concealers.

I don’t have a lot of concealers, but as you can see even my small amount can look super unorganized. But I then organized them into what I am keeping and what I am getting rid of. The ones I am getting rid of, either I ran out of product, or because they are not cruelty free.

These are the ones I am keeping.

Sorry this post is kind of on the short side, but coming from a reader’s standpoint, I feel like it would be better to read a lot of shorter, easier to read posts, than a couple really long posts. I don’t know, maybe that’s just me though. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed, thank you so much for reading!

February Bullet Journal Setup

Hello all, I hope you all are having an amazing day! I really enjoyed sharing my January Bullet Journal Setup with you all and I wanted to share with you my setup for the month of February! I am apologizing for the poor lighting in advance.

So first I have this cover page. No I don’t really know how to do calligraphy, I just saw this on Pinterest, and free handed it myself. I wanted to make it a little artsy so I drew a bunch of little hearts, and then a bigger geometric heart and rose. Not my best work, but I’m not mad at it.

This is pretty basic but it’s just a monthly log for February to keep track of any events.

Next are my weekly spreads. After 2 days of January, I hated the way I set it up, there was very little room to write so I wanted to make big boxes this month with enough room to write. I like it much better this way.

Next I have a little area to keep track of my spending. I loved including this in January, it made me more cautious and aware of my spending.

Next I have a budget planner. For this page, I wanted something where I could plan out a budget for the pay periods. This will just help me even more keep track of my spending and things that I need to pay for right away like bills.

This page is just a habit tracker. I included it last month, and there were some habits I would definitely like to improve on, so I included them for this month. Also on these pages I included a space to keep track of my monthly favorites and then things that happen throughout the month.

Lately I have been getting into some poor sleeping habits, not sleeping enough hours in the night and there were a few times last month where I had sleep paralysis, which is just when you wake up and you can’t move or talk anywhere from seconds to minutes. This is just a way for me to keep track of it. Next to this page, I just left a page for doodling, because why not?

That is it for my February Bullet Journal setup, I hope you all enjoyed. I’m trying to tweet and post on Instagram more often, so don’t forget to check out my accounts which you can find links to on the left. Thank you so much for reading!

January Favorites and Hate Its

Hello all, I hope you are all having a great day. I’m a day late but I wanted to show you my beauty favorites and some of my not so favorites. Unfortunately with the tight budget I am on, I can’t afford to go buying new products all the time, so there isn’t too many, please bare with me.

I’ll start with my favorites. I got this for Christmas, and I have been loving it and it is the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Gold Palette. I kinda wish there were more matte shades in it but that’s okay. These metallic shimmery shades are so pigmented and they last throughout the day, especially when you wet them. I found a technique for wetting shadows and that is to grab a flat shader brush, dip it into the shade of your choosing and then spray it with a setting spray and apply, its like magic.

Speaking of setting sprays, even though it isn’t technically a setting spray, but I use it as a setting spray and that is the Mario Badescu Facial Spray. It just smells so good, it makes my skin feel hydrated and it actually holds my makeup in place.

Alright now, I’m going to mention some products that I absolutely just hated in the month of January. The first one is this eyeliner from Wet N Wild, I found it just horrible. I always wear waterproof makeup for my eyes, because you never know when you’reΒ  going to have a bad day and I’d rather be safe than sorry. This really stays on, which is great, but it is super difficult to get off, like you really have to work to get it off. Also, I found it a bit runny, I had to be careful when applying it near the inner corner of my eye because it would run into the lower lash line and sting my eyes. I just really didn’t like this product.

The next product I could not stand were these makeup removing wipes from Pixi. As you all know, I’m trying to make the transition to go cruelty free, and even though I love the Neutrogena makeup removing wipes, they are not cruelty free, so I have been on the hunt for a dupe. I was at Target one night and decided to pick up these wipes from Pixi… Big mistake. First off, they’re really thin, they are the exact same quality as the kind you can find from the Dollar Tree. The worst part is that these wipes were 10 dollars. So that’s 10 times the price as the dollar tree for the same quality, if not worse. Also with these wipes, some parts were moist, and some were dry, these wipes dry super fast once they’re out of their package, not to mention they are horrible at removing makeup. You have to really work to get all of the makeup off. I absolutely hated these and I will never purchase these again.

The next product I hated was this Sure Scent . I picked it up from the Dollar Tree soΒ  I didn’t have too many high expectations but it didn’t work at all for me. My dog spends a lot of time in my bedroom, so there’s always an odor. So I saw this and thought it could help. It didn’t help at all, and you can’t even smell the scent unless you are right next to it. I guess I’ll have to stick to my wallflowers.

That is it for my January Favorites and Hate Its. Sorry if I got a little negative with the hate its, these products really just did not work for me and I wanted to share it with you all. I hope you all have a wonderful day. Thank you so much for reading!

Nyx Cosmetics Powder Puff Lippie Review

Hello all, I hope you are all having a wonderful day! I thought today we’d take it back to the old days, and I would review a product for you. I tried out the Nyx Cosmetics Powder Puff Lippie and I just wanted to share my thoughts with you!

First thing right off the bat, I really like the packaging. I don’t know why but I do. It has an applicator very similar to the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks. Is it a dupe? I don’t really know, I have one of those lippies but it is a shimmer one, it’s not matte, but maybe for a future post, I can try it out and compare the two and see if it’s a dupe.

When applying it for the first time, I noticed it took a while for the product to actually come out. When applying, it felt very smooth on my lips. It wasn’t super hydrating and not too drying. I felt it had a similar texture as the Nyx Matte Lip Cream.

It took a while for this lipstick to dry, and I mean minutes. It was definitely not transfer proof even after it had dried. Even after half an hour, there was lipstick residue on my straw. So if you’re looking for something long lasting, this is not the product for you.

As for my final thoughts, I really thought it was a nice idea. I liked the packaging, it reminded me of lip gloss from 10 years ago. It had an okay formula, I like how it felt, however I was not very happy how it wasn’t very long lasting. I don’t know about you, but when I look for a lipstick, I look for something that is not only a shade that I like, but also something that will last, so I won’t have to keep reapplying throughout the day. If I were to give this a letter grade, I would give it a C.

If there are any products you think I should review, please don’t hesitate to let me know in a comment. Thank you so much for reading!

Declutter With Me! Eye Shelf; Eyeliners, Primers, and Mascaras

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a great day! Today I wanted to continue my Decluttering series, and what better thing to declutter than makeup? In my bedroom, I have my little corner with my desk/vanity with shelves along the wall that I use to store some of my makeup. I have 3 shelves devoted to makeup, one being for eyes, one for foundation, concealers, and primers, and the last one for bronzers, blushes and highlighters. Today I wanted to tackle the eye shelf.

On this shelf I only really keep my eyeliners, primers, and mascaras, while keeping all of my palettes on and in my desk.Β IMG_2027

I actually tackled my mascaras a while back, but I am left with these mascaras. One of the best things about decluttering my makeup is that I can finally go through all of my non-cruelty free makeup out!

Next I went through my single eyeshadows. However I didn’t really find any eyeshadows I wanted to get rid of, so I decided to keep them all.

As for eyeliners, I didn’t get rid of too many. I believe all the ones I had were cruelty free, at least most of them. I really only got rid of the old ones and the ones that didn’t have much left.

Next is this little box with primers and eyeshadow sticks. I got rid of the primers that were super old as well as the Revlon eyeshadow and eyeliner duos since they are not cruelty free, which was a shame because I really liked those.

Although it doesn’t look too different from before, here is the finished product!

That’s really about it for this installment of my decluttering series. I feel much better and more motivated to declutter more, so look out for more of these decluttering posts! Thank you so much for reading!
