I’m Now a Pura Vida Rep!

Alright I’ll just cut to the chase when I say I’m now a Pura Vida Represenative! This is so exciting because this brand not only creates some awesome and affordable jewelry but they also donate 10% of sales to Costa Rican Artisans! Also they have special bracelets that are known as charity bracelets and then a portion of that money goes back to those organizations like breast cancer awareness, anxiety disorder awareness, and so much more!

I’m so excited and so proud to be welcomed into the Pura Vida Family and I can’t wait to get some more bracelets! Also, I get a discount code which can save you 20% off your next purchase! My code is ALLICEN20. I am so so excited to represent Sandcloud and Pura Vida Bracelets, they’re both great companies that donate to a great cause!

Here are both websites linked and my codes down below!

Cruelty Free: A Work In Progress

So this is something I have been trying to work on for a long time. It has been important to me that the cosmetics I use are cruelty free, but I haven’t officially gone cruelty free. Ever since I got my new puppy, Nico, I’ve had a much greater appreciation and love for all animals. I could never imagine bringing any harm to animals and I refuse to support or endorse in any companies that believe that this is ok.

As I said earlier, I haven’t officially gone cruelty free, it is a work in progress. I’m going to start with my makeup. Honestly I think it’s the easiest place to start, I just need to be aware of what companies are cruelty free and which ones aren’t, which I have been for a while. I’m officially declaring now that I will no longer purchase makeup from companies if I know they are not cruelty free. I’m hoping by taking this step along many others that these companies will see that what they are doing is not ok and will stop animal testing.

One thing I know is that the one of the only countries in the world, if not the only one, is China that requires animal testing for their cosmetics and with that the companies that sell in China technically are not cruelty free even if they claim the brand itself is cruelty free.

So far I have been good with this is with makeup, so that’s where I’m taking this first step. I would eventually like to go completely cruelty free, from my makeup, to skincare, nail care, hair care, and wardrobe. Skincare will be a little difficult because some non cruelty free brands have products that work for me, and it’s just a matter of finding a cruelty free option.

This is something new to me, so please bare with me. Thank you so much for reading!

Ulta, Forever 21, and CVS Haul!

Alright so this past weekend, I went to a few stores, and it was so tempting, I’m on a budget with things I’m trying to save up for and with Christmas coming up…. But I just couldn’t resist on some of these goodies. So here is a little mini haul for you all!

The first place I went to was CVS, and I only picked up 2 things, but I picked them up because I do have some makeup looks I want to create in the near future.

The first thing I have been eyeing for a while and now I finally have it is this white lipstick from Nyx Cosmetics. It would be awesome if it was a liquid but I can melt it if I have to. This is going to be perfect for some fun lip art looks!

The second thing I picked up was this colorful eyeshadow palette from Wet N Wild. I don’t have very many color shadows, and this will be perfect for some plans I have coming up in the future.

The next place I went to was Ulta. I told myself I was just going to look but who am I kidding? There is no such thing as just looking at Ulta.

The first thing I saw and I thought was a great deal was this unicorn set from Too Faced. This kit includes a Creme lipstick, liquid lipstick, a highlighter and a makeup bag all in iridescent colors giving me some serious unicorn vibes.

One thing I have been wanting to try out for so long are some liquid illuminators. I have been wanting to try the ones from Cover FX but I found a much more affordable one from Makeup Revolution. I figured it wouldn’t hurt to try!

I have been really trying to invest in some good skincare products, but it isn’t always the easiest thing. I have heard of this brand before but never really heard any kind of review on any products from this brand. I decided to pick up this facial mist that can be used after moisturizing or even as a makeup setting spray and its from the brand Mario Badescu.

I also picked up some products that I have already tried in the past but seemed to have run out of. And those products are the White Matte Liquid Liner from Nyx Cosmetics, eos Raspberry Pomegranate Shaving Cream, and then just a pencil sharpener.

The last place I went to was Forever 21 and I only picked up a few things. The first thing I instantly fell in love was this striped long sleeve body suit. I’ve just really been into bodysuits lately and I love stripes, it’s screams me.

I also picked up this ring set. I’ve been fascinated with rings lately and I wanted to add some to my collection, and this was a great deal for about $7.

I love how Forever 21 has snacks and candy, I saw these airhead bites, and I figure I should pick some up while they were there.

That’s it for this little haul. If you think there’s any kind of product I should try out, please let me know I’m a comment. Thank you so much for reading!

Beauty Amateur Hour on Facebook!

Okay I have been debating how to go about this for a long time but I finally gave in and made a Facebook account for Beauty Amateur Hour. I’m not exactly how it’s going to work, I’ve never had a page account, so please bare with me.

But I hope to post the same things on here if not more. What I’m really looking forward to are doing get ready with me and really utilizing Facebook live.

There’s not much on it just yet, I only created it yesterday and I don’t know how to use it, but you should definitely go check it out, just search for Beauty Amateur Hour, and give me a like or even a follow if you’re feeling it!

Random Little Finds: Ulta Beauty Lip Treatment Set Review

So I realize I started this series a while back and never continued the series or installment, but better late than never. So I found this little lip treatment set at Ulta and it really intrigued me, so I figure I’d try it.

I didn’t really find anything particularly amazing about this product, in all honesty. The lip scrub was alright, it was literally in the form of a wax like crayon formula. it was like any other lip scrub I’ve tried, nothing special.

With the lip mask, I liked the form of it, it reminded me of all the other trendy lip masks you see on YouTube and Instagram. However when it came to actually trying it, I was not impressed. It didn’t really stay on my face and I didn’t really notice a difference in the hydration or plumpness in my lips.

As for the lip balm, I really loved the packaging, but I’m pretty sure I mentioned that in the first installment. Like the lip scrub, it wasn’t anything special. I like how smooth it made my lips feel but unfortunately it didn’t last.

So overall, I’d say this product is average. I personally wouldn’t buy it again, and I can’t 100% say I can recommend it to all of you. I enjoyed this idea of random little finds, and I can’t wait to do the next one! Also I have some ideas for another series, maybe even a few, so look out for those! Thanks for reading!

ImPRESS Gel Manicure Review

Alright so I work with food, and at the place I work, I’m not allowed to wear any nail polish of any kind or false or artificial nails, so I took advantage of the week off I had from work and I tested out these nails that you can find at the drugstore and put them on yourselves.

I’ve never had fake nails before so this was definitely something I had to get used to. The nails looked great, and I think these have a great price. I got mine in a subscription box but I know these are very affordable. I know it definitely beats the price of going to the salon.

One thing I will say is that they don’t stay clean for very long. I don’t know if maybe nails don’t stay completely clean or if it’s because these ones were white but I noticed dirt stained some of the nails, but not all of them.

Another thing I noticed is that some stayed on very well, but some wanted to come off. It was just a little inconsistent. But these are a great option if you’re looking to change your nails every other day. If you’re looking for something to last, I don’t know if these nails are it.

Overall, I really liked these nails, or at least the feeling of having nails. These nails are perfect for me because I can’t have nails for a super long period of time. These nails are perfect for when I’m going out on one of my days off.

Farewell to 31 Days of Halloween 2017

Before I put 31 Days of Halloween 2017 to rest, I wanted to thank you all for being supportive encouraging and always sharing your nice comments. I’m so fortunate to have you all and just nothing but positivity on here.

I’m going to be completely honest, this is something I have been wanting to do since last year, and I even tried it last year, but didn’t even come close to how I did this year. I originally planned to have a video tutorial on each look on my YouTube channel and I had one for the first 2 days but then my computer failed me and I was unable to make more in a timely manner.

After that, I felt I didn’t have the same motivation everyday after. Don’t get me wrong, I had a blast creating these looks but there were some days where I put something together at the last minute just to post something.

But I’m hoping next year, I’ll have a better computer for one, and then just have more of a set plan on what I want, and planning ahead of time and not waiting until October to create all my looks. I’m also hoping to put more effort and really make my looks stand out.

I really had a lot of fun creating these looks. It was nice and fun to do something a little different than the beauty looks. I think maybe I’ll pick out some weeks throughout the year and create looks based off a certain theme. I have plans to, so look out for that in the future.

But I’m currently in the process of planning out ideas I have  for Thanksgiving and Christmas, so be on the lookout for that! Thank you so much for reading!
