Lush Cosmetics Cup O’ Coffee Face and Body Mask Review

As I briefly touched on in my Black Friday Haul, I’ve never really tried anything from Lush before. Yes I’ve used their bath bombs a couple of times, but never any of their skincare products, or any of their other cosmetics. But I picked up this Cup O’ Coffee Face and Body Mask, that I have been wanting to try for the longest time. Even though I’ve only used it about 4 times, I feel that I have come up with a solid review for this product.

First, I am going talk about the packaging. I’ll start off with the packaging, itself. It’s in a little recycled plastic pot, that just looks nice and pleasing to the eye. On the side, there’s actual instructions on how it is used, while giving a little brief description on the benefits of using the product, not even the product in specific but moreso the ingredients.

I don’t know why I like this, but I truly love this next part about the packaging. There is a sticker on the side of the pot and it gives specific details about this product. It lists the worker that made the product, the date it was made, and then even a date that the product should be used by. You don’t see a whole lot of other brands that takes this step to maintain quality and share this particular information with consumers.

Now for what’s inside the pot. As soon as I opened the pot, I was overcome by such the lovely scent of coffee, perfect for coffee lovers. It almost has the consistency of actual mud but with coffee grounds in it. I’m not entirely sure why this is a mask, because it is meant to be scrubbed into the skin, and the sensation of the coffee grounds for exfoliation.

My skin feels so smooth and refreshed after using this mask. Of all the face masks I have been trying lately, this would have to be my favorite so far.

My only complaint about this product is that it can get messy when washing off the mask. The excess coffee grounds get all over the sink, and sometimes like to hide on your neck.

Even though I have one complaint, I really do like this product, and I was just overall impressed with not only the product itself, the process of how this product was produced. I cannot wait to go back and try even more products and test them to share with you all. Thank you so much for reading!

2017 Black Friday Haul…… Part 1

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving if you celebrate it! I love spending time with my family and then attempting to get Christmas shopping done the next day. And I mean that, attempting, but then somehow it just turns into a shopping spree for myself, I imagine many of you can relate. Anyway I did some shopping and I wanted to share with you what I got. This is just Part 1, I have some online shopping I did as well. I would share what I got for others for Christmas gifts but I didn’t want to risk spoiling it for them so I’m just sharing what I got for myself.

First place I went to was Ulta, and they didn’t have amazing deals but I have been wanting to try more from the brand Makeup Revolution, which they carry there, and so I thought I’d take advantage of the Buy One, Get One 50% off deal.

So first thing I got was this Blurring Primer. I’ve been needing a new primer, and I have heard of “Blurring” but have never tried one myself, so I figured I would try it out and see if it actually works.

I have been in love with holographic stuff in general, and honestly this highlighter looks like its duochromatic if not holographic. It is around the same shade as the blanket I’m using as the background for this picture, so we’ll see if I am even able to wear it.

Something else that caught my eye was this Banana Powder. It really reminds me of the Banana Powder from Ben Nye Cosmetics. I’ve never tried it but I have always wanted to. I truly hate loose powders but I still thought I would give it a chance. I also wanted to try baking, because believe it or not, I have never tried baking.

The last Makeup Revolution product I picked up was the Liquid Highlighter in Champagne. I’m going to be honest, I wasn’t too impressed with the Starlight one I picked up in my last haul, but I still thought I would give this one more chance before officially deciding that I don’t like it.

The last thing I picked up from Ulta were these makeup removing wipes from Formula 10.0.6. My absolutely favorite makeup wipes are the Neutrogena ones, but as I stated in a couple posts back, I’m trying to transition going cruelty free, and I know that Formula 10.0.6 is cruelty free, and I wanted to test them out.

IMG_1569.JPG

The next store I went to was Lush. I’m going to be honest, I’ve never really been crazy about Lush and their infamous bath bombs. Like yeah, they’re cool and all but I don’t see the big deal. Honestly I feel like I am constantly under stress from wherever it comes from, and if I took more baths, maybe it would be good and relaxing for me. So I picked up two bath bombs, the rocket science one and some sugar bear I think, I honestly can’t remember their names.

IMG_1561

The other thing I picked up was this Cup O Coffee Face Mask I have been wanting to try for the longest time. I’m trying to transition into being cruelty free and unfortunately for me, most if not all the products I use aren’t cruelty free. Luckily Lush is and I wanted to try out their products to see if I can find a cruelty free option that works for me.

The next Β place I went to was Victoria’s Secret because what is a Black Friday Haul without Victoria’s Secret? As much as I wanted to get the tote when you spend $75, there honestly just wasn’t much that I wanted that was worth spending money on, so I only picked up two things.

The first thing I picked up were the camping leggings that were on sale.

IMG_1564

The next product I picked up really just stood out to me. I’m going to be honest, I have some big breasts and it makes shopping for bras incredibly difficult, especially when it comes to shopping for bathing suits and even clothes I want to wear but don’t want my bra showing. So I saw these lightly lined cups that are sticky, so it’s backless. I figured it would be nice to try these out and to have them on hand just in case.

IMG_1563.JPG

The next place I went to was Q which is just a smaller and sometimes more affordable version of Forever 21. I most of these on sale, and I thought I would try and upgrade my regular T shirt wardrobe to something a little nicer.

First, I saw this lightly lined bralette. It looks like one I have from Victoria’s Secret but doesn’t break the bank.

IMG_1572.JPG

Next I got this long sleeve floral dress/shirt. It looks long to be a shirt but a little short to be a dress. But I thought it would look great with a pair of leggings or maybe even a pair of skinny jeans.

The next thing I got was this striped dress. Its going to look great in the summer, but in the meantime, I thought it would look great over a white t shirt, since that 90s trend seems to be making a comeback and with a pair of leggings or tights.

IMG_1571

I also picked up a pair of Christmas socks, because you can never have too many pairs of Christmas socks.

IMG_1574.JPG

The last thing I picked up was this choker set. It comes with a black one and a denim one. I don’t have any chokers, and I just love the way they look.

IMG_1573.JPG

The last place I went to was Charming Charlie and the only thing I got from here was this light pink velvet baseball cap.

This wraps up my in store shopping Black Friday Haul, and I will post my online one as soon as I get them in the mail. Thank you so much for reading!

Cruelty Free: A Work In Progress

So this is something I have been trying to work on for a long time. It has been important to me that the cosmetics I use are cruelty free, but I haven’t officially gone cruelty free. Ever since I got my new puppy, Nico, I’ve had a much greater appreciation and love for all animals. I could never imagine bringing any harm to animals and I refuse to support or endorse in any companies that believe that this is ok.

As I said earlier, I haven’t officially gone cruelty free, it is a work in progress. I’m going to start with my makeup. Honestly I think it’s the easiest place to start, I just need to be aware of what companies are cruelty free and which ones aren’t, which I have been for a while. I’m officially declaring now that I will no longer purchase makeup from companies if I know they are not cruelty free. I’m hoping by taking this step along many others that these companies will see that what they are doing is not ok and will stop animal testing.

One thing I know is that the one of the only countries in the world, if not the only one, is China that requires animal testing for their cosmetics and with that the companies that sell in China technically are not cruelty free even if they claim the brand itself is cruelty free.

So far I have been good with this is with makeup, so that’s where I’m taking this first step. I would eventually like to go completely cruelty free, from my makeup, to skincare, nail care, hair care, and wardrobe. Skincare will be a little difficult because some non cruelty free brands have products that work for me, and it’s just a matter of finding a cruelty free option.

This is something new to me, so please bare with me. Thank you so much for reading!
